Is Cashmere Worth It? Why You Should Pick Cashmere Over Other Knits

posted 2023 Jan by

‘Tis the season for chilly weather, bundling up, and getting cozy! And who says you can’t stay cozy while enjoying a luxury item? For us, cashmere is the perfect balance of cozy and indulgent. Unlike other woven textiles, it isn’t itchy or scratchy, and it actually provides an elegantly smooth appearance to garments. If you’ve never tried wearing cashmere before, go ahead and treat yourself. You won’t regret it!

What Is Cashmere Anyway?

Cashmere is technically a type of wool. When you hear “wool sweater” you probably immediately picture an itchy sweater that your great aunt gave you decades ago and has since shrunk to an unwearable size in the wash. Luckily, cashmere is not that kind of wool. It actually comes from specific breeds of goats! Unlike traditional wool which comes from sheep, cashmere is much finer and lighter weight. It is also a great insulator. In short, cashmere is lighter, softer, more rare, and warmer than sheep’s wool. All these attributes make it a highly sought after textile for high quality clothing and accessories.

Lasting Luxury

Cashmere also stands the test of time very well. If you are familiar with our brand, then you know Misook is all about creating timeless pieces that are as durable as they are comfortable. Our goal is for you to be able to truly live in your garments and enjoy them for years to come. Our cashmere pieces are no exception to that dream. When cared for properly (cashmere is dry clean only), cashmere pieces can be worn for decades, and in some cases, they can even be passed down to the next generation. This is due to the fact that cashmere is a very high-quality yarn. It is pricier than other woven yarns, but in this case you really do get what you pay for.

Comfortable Warmth

In addition to being luxurious and boasting excellent longevity, cashmere is also extremely comfortable. After all, there is a reason you see cashmere woven into various different types of garments like hats, gloves, scarves, sweaters, ponchos, socks, and more. If you wanted to, you could wear cashmere from head to toe! We have a variety of cashmere pieces that all serve different purposes and are suitable for different styles and occasions. You’re sure to find one that fits your fancy.

Our cashmere gloves are a fan favorite. We offer three different colors, all with tech-touch fingertips so you can continue to use your devices, even in cold weather. We like our gloves to fit nice and snug so there is no gapping to let the cold air in. Since cashmere is a thinner, lightweight textile, it is great for making warm gloves that aren’t bulky or cumbersome.

Our cashmere ribbed pom pom hat is another staple for your winter wardrobe. Soft and silky, this hat keeps your ears and head warm while still looking fashionable. Our cashmere hats are also great for bad hair days too! You’ll look put together since you’ll be wearing cashmere, and no one will know that you ran out of dry shampoo this morning.

Cashmere sweaters are a tried and true classic, of course. Nothing says luxury quite like a cashmere sweater. They also make great gifts for that special someone who seems to already own one of everything. If you prefer a looser, relaxed fit, be sure to check out our cashmere poncho. Or if you prefer a classic, fitted look, our long sleeve turtleneck sweater is a great place to start.
